Fun Monday - Not Quite Off the Wall
Brought to you by Return of the White Robin
It is very hard for me to narrow down what to post on this blog. The topic is things that hang on our walls and I hang many, many things on the walls. Here is a small representative sample. These are silver cha cha slippers in a dark area near the entrance. I thought If I could bring some light in, it might cheer the area up.
This is a painting my mother did of Mindy and her family. Lynn is a wonderful painter and more of her work can be seen at this site .
I have a large collection of masks from all over the world. This one covers (mostly) the tackiest wall thermometer in existence. I have lots of toys dangling from the ceiling - some sit close to the wall like this cat on a spring swing.
As you pass the divider between the kitchen and dining area - you will see these objects on the edge of the divider. The small photo is of my dead father laughing.
This is a mask from Mexico with a fingert puppet I got from Christmas. Below is a mask I bought in Japan.
Here are some of my action figures. I have a few!
The figure on the right is a lamp with flickering electric bulbs. He can be quite menacing when lit (Can't we all!?)
When I made this, I intended it as a wall bird feeder for out doors, but it still needs to be glazed, so it is in the house for now.
Embarrassingly - these can be found behind the bedroom door!

FABULOUS Fun Monday!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
wow you have a great collection of action figures. I love the bird feeder, not sure I'd want to put it outside if it were mine. Some of those masks are a bit too scary for my taste!!
The photo of the mask reminded me of the movie "Fur" with Nicole Kidman and Robert Downey Jr. It's an imaginary portrait of photographer Diane Arbus. You should see it... I think you would enjoy it!
Love the bird feeder... you need to glaze it!
Thanks Bichonpawz - your dog is adorable - I'd like to see what is on your walls too!
ChrisB -yeah - one of those unfinished to dos!! As for the masks - The scarier the better - you should see some of the other ones. I do worry what the neighbors think sometimes!
Jodi - Yes, I've seen that film, Downey makes a great Dogboy!
Well...okay. But where do you hang your keys?
Fantastic and mask-a-licious! Good for scaring small children. I just have to get me some of those.
And the bird feeder looks like a work of art - don't take it outside - the birds aren't worthy!
Since you are an artist, I have been looking forward to what you would choose for this Fun Monday. Certainly, you have chosen some very interesting items. I especially like your bird feeder, the painting by your mother, Lynn, and the cool slippers. Even though you have it hidden, I recognize the tackiest wall thermometer in existence. Ours says that the temperaure is 86 degrees outside and 77 degrees inside my computer room.
Oh how fun! I especially love the bird feeder, I can't believe you made it. Wow! I bet the birds are going to love it when it's done.
I am going straight to ebay and look for my own "Frank-N-Furter. What a happy place you have.
Cool, love the birdfeeder!
Cool stuff! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your bird feeder! Great Fun Monday!
Love the cha chas. I'm a bit of a shoe lover myself.
you have such fun things! I love the bird feeder. I bet they won't appreciate it as much as folks inside do.
min - keys should be hung? Isn't there a law against that?
Tiggerlane - yes I fear you are right - the girls scouts don't sell cookies here any more!
mjd - Hope I haven't offended - That thermo doesn't go with my decor (and not much doesn't!) For the first time in weeks wehave not hit 90 (or even 80) yet! Hooray!
JoyT - That is very optimistic of you!! (Getting done, I mean!)
Debi - That's where I got mine and my Columbia and my Riff Raff and all theBuffy and Matrix and Lord of the Rings and Xena ones too! I think I need a 12 step program!
Reevesfarm - Thanks so much. I decided it would be a lot of work to keep the seeds supplied - The piece isn't really all that large!
Debs- Thanks so much
Robinella - It runs in our family - check out my sister min's blog - she often features shoes!
Thanks Susan - I feel like poor White Trash compared to the things I've seen on some people's lists!
Nutso, my friend!! What's with you and your sister and shoes on the floor and ceiling?!!
OH, and did you see my mask up today?! It would totally fit in your house!!
I love that you put the shoes on the wall to brighten it up - how fun!
you quite possibly are the most unique "hanger" of all
That one lamp might scare it out of me before I made it to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Fantastic collection! Seems like I say fantastic a lot lately...but I mean it. I like the bird feeder that you made and the masks.
Stephanie - I did see your mask - but was bad and did not comment . (I went back and did.)
Julie - Tehy are shiny silver and function almost like mirrors.
Pamela - I'm taking that as a compliment!
Beckie - Thanks ever so! Im glad you like it!
Wow! You have such an eclectic collection.
I love that bird feeder.
Holy Esoterica Batman! This is one hell of a post, I want to live in your house.
Hey Purple! Forgot to tell you...the shoes are the BEST!! Especially because they are VERTICAL!
you definetly have a lot of different things hanging from your walls! Really cool and I love action figures!
Geezaree I'm boring :/. Cool silver slippers, have you ever USED them to cha cha? Don't think I've cha cha-ed myself since I was a kid. All of a sudden, I'm feelin' the need to dance.
I see you and your sis have a "hanging from the ceiling" fetish...I DIDN'T notice any testicles in your house, though, if you've got 'em, it remains a mystery.
I guess the bird feeder is clay...but whatever the medium, it's beautiful. Have you made more than one?
You've definitely put the "fun" in Fun Monday :).
Thanks Otherbear!
Willowtree - Come on over! (But you might change your mind once you got here!)
Bichonpawz - yeah the space is vertical!
My4Kids - alot doesn't necessarily mean good - I need to reduce!
Robin - I have a pufferfish - not sure if he has testicles. I'm sure if you looked around you'd find some somewhere, but they are not the central motif of my decor.
