Fun Monday Poem and Pic

The Evening Path

Remains of the day, languid and spare
Offer calm, and meaningful choice,
Spoken through slow deliberate care
By an ardent but quavering voice.

No young dog saunter proud and fair
The steps are labored but enjoyed.
We drink the jasmine from the air
the senses dulled but still employed

and more empowered from the mind's
experience and memory
unhurried, plodding and resigned
to recognize but not quite see.

An evening's haze, though cool and gray,
Is powerful as morns' refrains.
Though weary we that plod our way
Know joy in seizing the remains.

Very nice words. I know this is very personal, but it is also universal and comes across as a peaceful, melancholy image. The pictures are nice and fit the poem, but they aren't what I see when I read it.

Good poem, Purpleworms. It kind of sent a melancholy vibe to me.

I liked the pictures - I thought the first one was perfect for your poem.

Cool, very cool. Even without your great illustrations, your words themselves paint a picture.

Wow.

That is so good, you are very talented at poetry (and art).

The Otherbear - Its all tricks from photoshop - nothing really special except select certain parts of the picture to exclude. Glad you like it.

Willowtree - Your poem was amazing. Psychedelic and inventive

Beckie - I was hoping it would be uplifting, but Thinking about aging has different effects on different people.

C - You are a consummate writer. One of the best I have seen on the web!
