Friday in Houston
We saw this little stand with a bunch of paint on velvet paintings for sale and there was this rooster tetthered to the counter. The guy had a lot of different items for sale including leather fringed collars and stuffed animals.
At a roadside rest I saw this rig with this colorful load.
Look how much luggage we brought for a three day stay in Houston!
That was all yesterday. Today Mindy and I went out to our old haunts around Bear Creek Park and took some photos. Near a domed church we saw this unusual invasion force.
Bear Creek Park now has a collection of dangerous caged animals. Here are som e of the ones we saw. This pig was especially scary!
These are some other random images fromthe park. This was a water spiggot that had been mended with tape.
This was an interesting tree root.
Later that day we went to Scrap Daddy's to look at his art cars. This was a truly amazing place with dozens of bizarre and inventive creatures made of all manner of metal scrap. This is the car featured on my sister Mindy's blog. It is still me favorite.
Here is the head of the same creature.
Here is a scorpion-like car.
A larger car creature was composed completely of silverware. Here is a close up of its feathers.
This is a shot of some of the metal sculptures in the yard.
And here is a shot of Mindy and Mom near some of the cars.
We met some very friendly and pleasant people including Quentin who had just had hip replacement surgery and lives next door to Scrap Daddy ...
and this man who was so skilled with the Machete that he could do the weeding with it. He demonstrated all kinds of strokes and safety precautions for me.
I always seem to find abstract images that fascinate me. Here is a gas tank with all its hoses that I found entrancing.
Her is a part of a sculpture that was very striking.
This was just the first part of the day - but I am too tired to write about any more for now. Tomorrow is Violet's graduation, but maybe I can put up a few more pictures a bit later.

Scrap daddy's art cars are amazing.
Those art car creations are spectacular. It must take so much patience and hours of work. I think the pig looks kind of cute!!
