A Few Images

Mindy asked to see what I have been working on - but now that I am no longer painting on paper, my pieces are taking longer, so I only have half-finished things to show for now. So in the mean time I thought I'd put up some abstract photographs that I took on a recent walk and I'll add the current (partially finished) painting at the bottom.

I was quite taken with the textures of this snow picture. It feels so old and ragged with all the detritus of winter.

I loved the brilliant green of this moss despite the fact that it had been covered with snow for so long during the winter.

The trees create an interesting negative space pattern with the maze of bare branches.

Here is the half finished work for the Afghan project that I am working on:

Great photos, I love the one with the green moss peeping out as the snow melts.

The painting is looking good too.

I like the new one! That's excellent. I'm really enjoying this style you've created. Is this on masonite?

Beccy, It is so totally sweet of you to keep visiting. I'm sure it can't be too interesting - but I am SO pleased to have the visit and the feedback!

Min - This one is on masonite and I'm still struggling with the stylistic elements. The surface will change quite a bit before this one is finished!

Love all the photos seen through the eye of an artist. I think you would have found lots of subject material for painting if you had been on the visit I took to Morocco last week.

Chris - Yes - I would love to go to Morocco some day! I ran out of money in Spain so I didn't get to go any farther (many long years ago when I was there.) I envy you your trip and hope you will ost some pictures on your blog!
