Holiday Celebration

We couldn't make it down to Texas this year for our family gathering, so we skyped instead. I usually take photos of the holiday, so this year all I could do is screen shots, but here are a few very blurry images of our time together.

Here we are (from the tiny little corner shot!)
I just love this shot of of spousal unit D. It was tiny and pixilated, but it also is totally cool. Doesn't he look like something out of Deadwood or the Wild wild west!?

Here are some of the family members.

As you can see there are way too many gifts to be opened!

Here's the sweater I knitted for my Mom (hope my sister lets go of it!)

And I can't quite figure out what this was, but it got careful scrutiny!

After an hour still no dent in the number of packages!

More family shots!

Here are my two beloved sisters.

It was as good a time as could be had given we were more than 1300 miles apart!

New Project

Okay, I know I'm losing my mind - I really needed to start a new knitting project, but Monika Eckert has this great Lace Shawl Knit-Along called the Panama Shawl going and I just could not resist! So every day we have to knit as much as we can and I am two days behind already.

This is what I have so far!

Our family finally got healthy enough (with everyone out of the hospital) to have the celebration we had planned for Solstice. What fun! It was Aimee's first time through this and she really liked opening presents! Look how tired she got!

Have you ever seen a bigger smile? Children just love the holidays!

Das Gift

My sister has promised us the best holiday gifts ever! (She's so proud of them she felt she didn't have to label them!)

So now we are worried that she has joined some underground fundamentalist world change group. I think its a Global Warming Taroist group.

Anyway, we are prepared.

Happy Solstice Everyone!

Fun Monday Redux

Okay, So My last Fun Monday fell flat - It was a play off of my sister Min's post and I think all it did was convince people that we were a bunch of Satanists. Not so - I just got tired of reading long posts about feasting and hanging out in domestic bliss. Doesn't anyone else have this tradition? You have to get together with your family, you have a big fight with one of your sisters and then you drink too many margaritas and pass out in the bathroom naked? That's my tradition and I'm sticking to it.

(I had an image from www.headinjurytheater.com, but didn't want to infringe on this artist's copyright - go check out "Too much Tequila" at his web site) Go buy some of his art it is fantastic - and check out his blog and how he forced himself to consume multiple shots of tequila and paint a picture between each shot - It is hilarious.)
