Shawl is Blocking and Drying
Whose shawl is this anyway?
I finished the edging last night and all that is left is the blocking.
I set out my blanket on the bed and started pinning the shawl out.
I'm very glad I skipped a couple of the middle clues because it turned out enormous. I couldn't even fit it all on the bed and had to find a chair for one wing of the shawl.
The shawl measures 114 inches across (almost 10 feet or roughly 300 cm) and it is 57 inches long. It will drag on the floor I fear when I wear it!
Unfortunately my blocking blanket has a strong pattern so it is difficult to see the shawl pattern, but here is a closer look at the pattern. The beads are much more prominent in real life! (almost too much so!) You can click on any picture to enlarge it!

Finished, but Not Blocked
The knitting and binding off are done. Now there is just the blocking. Here are some preview images.
Not such a great photo since I had to push the shutter button myself. Here it is on the couch. It is big and should be pretty warm! Unfortunately the pointy edges are curling so you can't see them yet.

Of Hair and Change
Okay, I confess, I've been watching the Charmed ones on DVD and I was really taken by Alyssa Milano's hair in the 6th season. (The season itself was kind of lame - very preoccupied with kidnapping the new baby. I got REAL tired of baby episodes, but the hair and make-up were really good!) I dreamed of looking like this:
I took an old picture and did a cut and paste job - and it looked really great!
My hair has been plaguing me of late - limp, dry, thin - in short boring and hard to manage. So, anyway, after not much thought, I went and had all my hair chopped off. Unfortunately without magic there was no way to make me look like Alyssa Milano.
I think when it grows out a tiny bit, it will probably look pretty good.

Panama Shawl Update
I ran out of yarn on my other shawl, so I'm back working on the Panama shawl. (Maybe I can use the leftover yarn to finish the rose trellis shawl.

Rose Trellis Shawl Progress
Here's an update on the shawl progress. I have one more skein of yarn, so it should be finished fairly soon.
A closer view so you can see the detail a bit better.
