Day 5 Part 2 The way back and a Port Party

Back in the bus, we tried hard to digest everything we had learned.  I am afraid I dozed a little, but here is an example of what the countryside looked like as we zoomed back to the ship.

We passed some goats who were foraging for dinner.

This building was interesting.

And I'm not sure what that was, but I guess it is some kind of representative object for the city of Qena.

My sister had told me that on her Nile cruise when they disembarked, they would frequently have to cross through the lobbies of other cruise ships because they had to double/triple/quadruple park. Viking has its own docking areas, so we never had to do that, but the closest we came was when we had to go through a hotel lobby to get to and from the ship.

It was a pretty lobby with grand atmosphere of the orient. It made me wonder what the rooms might be like.

Out the other end of the lobby, there was our ship again.

We set sail and soon were again passing by the things we had passed to get to Qena

In the evening we had a port party with a welcoming toast. Here are the people that made our stay so great!

That evening we had a special Egyptian meal prepared for us by our chef.

The soup was great!

Then we tumbled into bed absolutely exhausted. On the morrow we would visit the most famous tombs in Egyptian history!
